Reflection Minna Choung

For me, television had impacted me the most above all the other mass media. This particular media has not only impacted me that second, but for life. For such a curious young child, television was always a part of my curiosity in life. Unlike other media, television used moving images (animation) and real people filmed on the screen. When I was young, I had always thought that there were little people who lived in the box so I used to try to talk to the people.
Also, television has been my usual source for news or entertainment. The programs on the television informed me about new songs, books, technologies, and even showed news from world wide. When I was young, the Internet was not such a good media for catching news. Unlike now, the Internet was not a worldwide tool for most of the people. So during my childhood, the television was the most influential to people.
However, as I grew, I realized that television also gives people negative impacts. For instance, the television does not always tell the truth. Although in the news, the people faked the truth and broadcasted false theories and news. Also, the movies or pornographies the television shows give a negative impact for the young children who practically live with the people. I also have been influenced by the violent movies and the commercial the television shows as if I need to get/do something to fit in with the society. Television is a media that not only influenced me, but also a great amount of people world wide.
