Personally I think the most influential mass media would be newspaper. Almost everyone is subscribed one and reads it everyday. Newspaper provides various articles from news to opinions. Probably opinion section would have the greatest impact on readers.
Newspaper helped me to understand what is going on within Korea and outside of Korea. Since my family doesn't watch television, newspaper is the only media that I have access to what is going around. Ever since I started reading newspaper especially the opinion section, I gained wider perspective on political issue and became aware of world affairs. Other sections like sports are interesting as well.
Also, extra sections such as education or reviews were influential to me as well. Education section helped me to understand what American universities expect from new students. It showed a couple of examples of college essays which were helpful in getting the structure and details. Movie reviews and book reviews are interesting as well. They do not only give summary and are persuasive but also lessons that can be learned contributed to some extent who I am as a person.
