Movies: The Pianist by Younghee Rhee

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itR0-I9idXk The setting is similar to Schindler's List but it is focused on what the protagonist had to go through during the war. The protagonist was forced to separate with his family. He travelled all around Poland to hide away from the Nazis and look for shelters and food. While he was eluding from the Nazis, he witnessed a couple of sights in which Jews were being discriminated. In one of the scenes, Jews had to lay bricks along railroad, but their work dissatisfied the Nazis. So the Nazis executed all the Jews immediately. Although they had no chance of winning the Nazis, they bravely revolted against them in one of the ghettos. They were all killed in the end but it showed their bravery.
There were scenes that portrayed how the Jews became discriminated as well. First, the Nurhemburg Law terminated the Jews' rights. The Jews had to move out of the city to ghettos. Some of them were sent to concentration camps. Many of the Jewish families were separated from the train station like the protagonist did. They knew that they would not see each other again. This movie was not as powerful as Schindler's List, but focusing on one character helped the audience to understand what surviving individuals had to go through until the war was over.
